From The First Book of Codes and Ciphers by Sam and Beryl Epstein, published 1956.

Some of these are rather old. )

No, seriously. Figuring out how to populate from and then iterate through an enum list was ridiculous. Yesterday's C lab was easier.

These riddles are all taken verbatim from Raymond Smullyan's The Riddle of Scheherazade and Other Amazing Puzzles, Ancient & Modern, published in 1997. I'm only posting up the riddles I already figured out the answer to, since I want to solve these by myself. If anyone else wants to take a guess at the answers, comments are screened, so have a go. Incorrect answers will be unscreened, while correct ones will not.

Most of them are math. Be warned.

And without further ado... )

EDIT: GOT IT AND IT WAS RIDICULOUS. I have no idea how anyone was supposed to figure that one out. The subsequent ones were much easier in comparison.

Up to 8 now, not stuck, just taking a brief break.

Still stuck on Level 5 of Zestriddle.

Musings below. )

Hm.

You know what, I might as well use this journal for something. Just because I can. And I might as well make that something related, so hey, why not riddles? And bits of code that are giving me a headache. And DC and FMA suspicions.

Speaking of, Hattori, I retract what I said about it being Rena. I didn't notice the scar on his face first time around, and for some reason that's made me change my mind (possibly because Rena isn't likely to pay that much attention to disguise detail, but who knows). I still can't make up my mind whether it's actually him or someone disguised as him, though.

I'm also entertaining the possibly ludicrous idea that the Akai in the bank is actually Bourbon who is actually a BO member, pretending to be Akai (since they did say Bourbon is crafty, and if Bourbon =/= Akai, disguising as him would be an appropriately sneaky move). I refuse to let go of the notion that Subaru = Akai, though, if only because it's the only obvious loophole I can see that would allow Gosho to say Akai is dead when he actually isn't.

...If that made any sense.
