More Zestriddle. Stuck on twelve, now.

her story...
it is the story she told me... and i have written it down...
hurry up... the clock is tickin'... tick...tack... tick...tack... no way to stop it...
in 15h58m25s she dies...

Gray letters are saxmdf.
Red on black letters are thcgyujqvnyoudie
Black on red letters are zedaclockwork

The text at the bottom says "it is you who have done hurt, it is you who have been hurt". But it's her story. And it says you die. So "her" and "you" are possibly being used interchangeably.

mystory gets nothing, neither does mystery or history.

There's 6 gray letters, which is one of the numbers on the gears. There's also 4 red-on-black letters on the first gear, which is another gear number. I don't know if that's on purpose or not, since there's 3 grays on the first gear but 5 black-on-red, and 5 isn't anywhere.

Second gear has 3 gray, 3 black on red, and 6 red on black. Last gear's got 6 red on black and 5 black on red.

I was just about to say, try subracted that from 24 hours and see what you get
8 hours, one minute, 35 seconds

The different length needles might indicate the hour, minute, and second hand on a clock.
And it'd be 1:50:50, actually.
Unless the 10 on the first one is indicating where the 10's actually supposed to be.
Which would make it 12 for the first one.
The 3,6,8 gear has the numbers in the right place for a clock!
Doesn't explain the first number gear, though.

15h58m25s
8h1m35s
1h50m50s
The 'y' in 'youdie' corresponds with 55s.
Although damn if we read the second gear counterclockwise, that makes it 10, not 50.

If we do take the 10 for the setter on the first gear, and the 3,6,8 for the second, and leave the third gear with the 12 at the top, that'd make it
12h15m50s

She gets to the top of the hill at midnight.
But if the moon's in the same place as the sun, and the sun is the D, opposite the D is an S that's silver...

Okay, wakes at noon.
2h + 7s + 4h + 1h + (moon same place as the sun) 3h + something strange + 30m (everything faster) + 20m (cliff) + 5m (sea) + something strange + 150s (everything faster) + 15s + she loved him x 3 + she died again.

Hours: 2 + 4 + 1 + 3 = 10h
Minutes: 30 + 20 = 50m
Seconds: 7 + 150 + 15 = 172s
172s = 2m50s
10h52m50s. That's not the whole time.
5h5m25s short.

Okay, and every "something strange" is followed by an "everything faster", and each time it switches down one denomination. From hours, to minutes, to seconds. So it's moving down the gears in that order.
Which makes that "7 beats of the clock" out of place. I assumed it was seconds, but maybe it's not.
So we need to figure out if noon is the top tooth or wherever the needle is pointing.
